75 per cent of Marketing Agencies Outsource More Assistance

69 per cent of in-house marketers and 75 per cent of marketing agencies are sourcing help from freelancers or content marketplaces.
FREMONT, CA:75 per cent of marketing agencies and 69 per cent of in-house marketers utilise freelancers or content marketplaces to find support. Verblio, a platform for creating content, conducted a poll of more than 400 content marketers to learn about the condition of digital content marketing at the time.
According to a survey on the tools used by freelancers, agencies, and in-house digital marketers, 21 per cent of agencies reported that content generation accounts for more than 34 of their revenue. When analysing those agencies, they see that the majority (67 per cent) employ more than 10 people. Nine pieces of content are produced per customer every month by 62 per cent of agencies.

The majority (41 per cent) of agencies produce five to 14 pieces, whereas the majority (39 per cent) produce one to four pieces. Few agencies (16 per cent) produce more than 15 pieces of content per customer every month.
Industry/audience knowledge (28 per cent), handling client expectations (24 per cent), and a lack of resources (20 per cent) are the top barriers to agencies producing quality content. 75 per cent of agencies receive assistance from freelancers or content markets, with 54 per cent of those working only with freelancers.
The two biggest challenges for agencies when it comes to outsourcing are getting genuine and industry-specific content (43 per cent) and client satisfaction (29 per cent). On average, nearly half (49 per cent) of in-house marketers produce five to 14 pieces of content per month, which is more than an agency would for a single client.
Half of all internal teams outsource their content creation, showing how common the hybrid content creation strategy is. More than twice as often as content platforms or agencies, in-house teams utilise freelancers, and 35 per cent use them solely.
They can witness that the majority of content teams (38 per cent) are a part of the growth team, 29 per cent are viewed as an in-house creative agency, and 17 per cent are a part of the brand team when we look at where content teams fit within their larger corporate structure.
40 per cent of in-house teams that outsource report experiencing similar difficulties to those experienced by agencies, with the toughest aspect being obtaining real, sector-specific content. Both internal marketers and marketing firms said they were finding it a little more difficult to create good content, with 71 per cent of internal marketers and 68 per cent of firms agreeing.
In the end, the study portrays that creating excellent content is more difficult than ever, with most content marketers outsourcing at least some of their content requirements. Digital marketers must continue to invest in and advance their careers because content drives growth.
