She highlights the importance of genuine brand passion in creating authentic campaigns while leveraging emerging technologies like AI to enhance marketing effectiveness and customer engagement.
What I’ve learned about Balance, Brand and Building Together
If there’s one thing my journey in marketing has taught me, it’s the value of balancing global consistency and local nuance, pushing for results and listening to real concerns, giving every partner a voice and driving forward with conviction.
Early in my career, agency life at Ogilvy Public Relations trained me to see things from every angle. High expectations shaped my standards, but it was the art of aligning different interests—brand, media and partner that stuck with me most. Later, at The Swank, I led a department managing multiple brands under one umbrella. The experience deepened my focus on brand stewardship, resource optimization and growth through careful calibration rather than brute force.
Equanimity has always guided how I work. Every brand, every market, regardless of size, deserves attention and respect. Whether it's an emerging designer or a well-known label, the trust placed in us matters. I take that seriously.
When I transitioned to a regional role at Furla Asia Pacific, I didn’t have prior experience operating at that scale. But thanks to a former boss who found me on LinkedIn and believed in my potential, I had the opportunity to dive into a more complex world of cultures and markets. That role rewired how I see distribution as a sales channel and a collaboration built on trust, responsiveness and mutual respect. Supporting dedicated partners in developing or underrepresented markets uplifts every part of the network, including those with fewer resources; the entire ecosystem, especially your strongest partners, becomes more resilient. It’s a dynamic rooted in ancient Asian wisdom that reflects the Law of the Universe, where energy flows in cycles and what you give returns, often amplified, to strengthen the whole.
- Marketing with Equanimity – Ensuring every market, partner and brand—big or small—receives equal care and attention, reinforcing a strong, inclusive brand ecosystem across Asia Pacific.
- Authenticity at the Core – Building campaigns from genuine brand passion to ensure messaging feels personal, purposeful and resonant—locally and globally.
- Agility Meets Innovation – Leveraging Gen AI and agile content strategies to streamline production amplify storytelling and drive omnichannel engagement with speed and scale.
- Collaboration Without Borders – Bridging cultures and aligning regional interests through active listening, mutual respect and a commitment to shared success.
Translating Brand Identity beyond Words
Being well-traveled helps, but so does being curious. Cultural fluency isn't just about language; it's about knowing what people value and how a brand fits into their world. I often compare it to translation not word-for-word, but meaning-for-meaning. Status, self-expression, gifting rituals, each of these tells you how a brand like GEOX can show up in people’s lives in ways that feel authentic.
"GEOX’s core message, Respira—“breathe”—is a powerful brand idea that speaks to renewal, possibility and momentum. It’s not just a slogan. It’s a philosophy I live by. When you believe in the brand, your work becomes instinctive. That energy flows into everything we do—from campaign ideation to channel strategy."
Getting to Yes: The Work of Collaboration
Working across 12 diverse markets has made one thing clear: getting alignment is more than a task. It’s a skill. Some partners say “no,” not because the idea is bad, but because they’re unsure how it fits. Listening, understanding what’s behind the hesitation and providing proof of concept often opens the door. That’s why we test new campaigns in Hong Kong first. When partners see real results, they’re more open to scaling the idea in their own markets.
I also make it a point to learn from local teams. No playbook beats ground-level insight. Co-creating campaigns with regional input makes activations stronger and more grounded. It builds buy-in and better outcomes.
Navigating a Marketing World Shaped by AI
Generative AI has become a cornerstone of how we create and scale at GEOX. From writing captions and press releases to generating visuals and exploring video use cases, AI helps us speed up what used to take weeks. It’s not perfect yet, text overlays and lifelike human visuals still need refinement, but we’re getting closer every day.
Our content workflow starts with high-quality product shoots, then branches out into multiple touchpoints—from marketplace videos to omnichannel placements. AI tools make this efficient, but they don’t replace live video. When it comes to connection and trust, human presence still matters.
We also use AI-driven dashboards and platforms like The Trade Desk to amplify our campaigns. Programmatic advertising helps us meet customers where they are across devices, online and offline. It’s not just about reach anymore. It’s about resonance.
Why the Basics Still Matter
Through all these changes, some principles remain constant: You need to connect with the brand’s purpose, understand your audience and collaborate with your teams rather than just direct them.
Marketing is at its best when global vision meets local reality. That requires active listening, honest feedback and the humility to adapt. If we stay curious, open to technology and rooted in authenticity, we’ll continue to build brands that mean something across markets, across cultures and across time.
